Whenever possible we will go outside, however if the weather is bad we will be in the hall so the children can wear their pumps.Long hair must be tied back Jewellery will need to be removed before the session (watches & earrings). If your child cannot take their own earrings out they will need to be taken out before school if possible, or can be covered with plasters.

Rights Respecting Schools

To give our pupils even more voice we have established a Pupil Parliament. The children have voted for the class representatives on each of our councils and from each council we have voted for a Minister and a Deputy Minister. The Parliament have also voted for a Prime Minister and a Deputy Prime Minister. A big well done to all of those pupils who put themselves forward for these important roles in school. Their first job will be to speak to the Manchester Children’s Board who are meeting at our Academy on Thursday.

Safeguarding and Family Support

Thank you to all the families who requested to be included in the Christmas Toy Appeal.
We appreciate how challenging times are currently with the rise in cost of living. There is a charity called Woodstreet Mission that offer various forms of practical help for families, such as; Smart start (School uniforms and essentials for low income families)Family Basics (day to day essentials such as bedding, clothing, etc.) Books forever (encouraging families to read together)Childhood experiences (introducing children living in poverty to experiences they might not necessarily have)Christmas Appeal
If you are interested in accessing any of the above support please contact Miss Stacey for an appointment to complete a referral into this service.

Co-op Activities

Yesterday Mrs Bardsley and Miss Stacey took a selection of children to The Powerhouse in Moss Side to the ‘Young Carers Fashion Extravaganza’. We had a fantastic time and had a chance to view some amazing outfits that had been upcycled and recycled! We also got to meet the Mayoress of Manchester Donna Ludford.
