Reminder
Now that the weather is changing please can you ensure that your child has a waterproof coat in school every day.  Where possible, we do try to take the children outside for fresh air, if the rain isn’t too heavy.

Hello Yellow!
Monday we are supporting the charity Young Minds and celebrating world mental health day by asking all children to wear something yellow and to bring in a small donation. If you can donate to this amazing charity, who are there to help support the mental health and wellbeing of all young people that would be much appreciated.
You can donate either via the link below or bring a small donation into school that we will combine with online donations:

Curriculum

October is Black History Month.
This is a time set aside each year to celebrate the achievements of Black people in the past and today. Throughout the month, we will be recognising black people throughout history, their achievements and what they have done for the black community. Each class has a different historical figure to focus on. The children will also be learning about why Black History month is important and why we take part each year.

Rights Respecting Schools

Article of the Month: Article 30 – Every child has the right to learn and use the language, customs and religion of their family, whether or not these are shared by the majority of the people in the country where they live.

ECO Award

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the International Eco-schools Award.  Mrs Alderson, the Eco Bees and the school community have been working so hard to reduce food waste, recycle and raise awareness of being Eco friendly.  Rachel from MEAN, came to join us for our assembly today to present us with our award.

We also introduced this year’s Eco Bees to the school and gave out their badges.  We are sure that they will continue the amazing work that has been going on.
