Co-op Academies Recognition Awards 2025

Please enter an introduction for your news story here.

Colleagues from across Co-op Academies Trust gathered at Aintree Racecourse on Friday 28 November for our 2025 Recognition Awards. The evening brought together staff from all 38 academies to celebrate the people who make our Trust such a special place to learn and work.

We are extremely proud of the three awards that were won by staff from Co-op Academy Broadhurst.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Mrs Sharon Smith, our Deputy headteacher, who sadly passed away earlier this year, was awarded a lifetime achievement award.  After more than 30 years of amazing dedication to the children, families and community at Broadhurst, we feel this is a well-deserved award and her family were extremely proud to attend and accept the award on her behalf.

Support Staff of the Year

Mrs Jones was awarded Support Staff of the year award.  She has worked tirelessly in school for many years and has had a massive impact on many pupils in that time.  As the teaching assistant in Year 5 last year and Mrs Smith's right-hand woman, she put the needs of the children first and supported them through a very difficult time. Mrs Jones certainly embodies our Co-op Values of Show You Care, Do What Matters Most and Succeed Together.

Geoff Clark Award

Miss Bingham was selected from all the nominees to win this year's Geoff Clark award.  During her time in Broadhurst Miss Bingham not only puts the children at the forefront of all she does, but is incredibly supportive of our parents and families too.  For the past 2 years, Miss Bingham has become part of the young carers team, and she helps provide a support system for those children who are carers at home.  There is no doubt that Miss Bingham 'shows she cares' every single day.
