As part of the Year 6 ‘World of Work Week’, we had the opportunity to visit the DfE building at Piccadilly Gate in Manchester. The purpose of the visit was to experience a real place of work and bring CRL to life. The children spoke to various employees and listened to their stories about their career pathways. They also had a tour of the offices and enjoyed ‘utilising’ the furniture and equipment. Part of the day was also spent completing a work-based task. They had to present their ideas to a panel of judges and the winning team won goody bags.
